Leaders from Lee-on-Solent (Lisa Hennen and Lisa Mortimore) were joined by
the Leader's from Fareham (Fiona Hepworth) and Gosport (Ian Naylor) in
promoting Run in England in the local community event - the 'Lee Festival'.
The event was a huge success and good weather ensured a lot of locals came
out in the carnival atmosphere to see what local community groups and
business' have to offer.

Pensioner Chris blazes a trail on Merseyside

At seventy years old, former fireman Chris Malone thought his days of running were over - until he discovered Run in England.
On a visit to his local gym, the pensioner from Litherland in Liverpool spotted a flier promoting a beginners running group and he wasted no time in signing up.

Little Eaton Beginners Take To The Hills

The Little Eaton Beginners in Derbyshire has had plenty of ups and downs over the past couple of months, since group leader Lesley Crane introduced them to the joys of running off-road and up hills.

Lesley is a keen fell runner and says “I couldn’t wait to set up a Run in England group in Little Eaton so that I could share my passion for off-road running with other members of the community. I wanted to provide beginners with a safe and friendly way to improve their fitness whilst exploring the stunning scenery around Little Eaton.”

Run in England at Greens Health & Fitness in Cambridge – a runaway success

Greens Health & Fitness in Cambridge have been overwhelmed by the demand for their beginners running groups. The new group launched at the beginning of July and immediately had over 30 members with more than 40 potential members on the waiting list. Group Leaders Tim Hyatt and Richard Leaf soon decided an extra session was needed and added a second day – only to find that this too is full and with a 80+ waiting list.

Castle Point group goes from strength to strength

The Castle Point, Essex group run by Mike Hayward goes from strength to strength and is now halfway through the second 10 week beginners course. In that time over 20 newcomers have signed up.
From those 20, 7 have completed various 5k events including the race for life, and one, Mark Stephens from Canvey has already completed his first 10k (The British 10k in London) and along with 6 of his colleagues from work raised over £1200 for ‘the foundation for the study of infant deaths’

Lee on Solent RiE group celebrates 10th session
