CRB requirements for Leaders
All Group Leaders need to provide a current UK Athletics Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) clearance prior to starting a group. Please don't plan to start your group until you have received the disclosure.
Checks take 2 to 3 months so please apply as soon as possible to prevent delays to your group.
Please follow 'Stages of the CRB' and 'How to complete a CRB form' (on right), sending forms to Athletics Welfare address and directing enquiries to UKA Welfare on 0161 223 4246
Information on CRB checks:
Leaders licences will not be issued until a clear check has been received. You still need to request a UKA CRB check even if:
- you have already completed a check with another organisation or your work
- you are looking to upgrade to the next coaching level but never completed a check in the past. Your licence may have expired and as a result invalidated your insurance. Your new licence will not be issued until a clear check has been received.
Run in England cannot support or advertise your group until they have evidence from you of your UKA CRB clearance or UKA leaders licence.
Run in England is not the same body as UK Athletics. We have no access to the progress of individual CRB disclosures. These are sent only to the individual not to Run in England
Tracking your application
The CRB provide a service which allows applicants to track the progress of an application as follows: www.crb.gov.uk/tracking
You will need to have the following information available:
- The disclosure application form reference number
- Applicant's date of birth
Cost of CRB check
There is no charge for all Leaders who operate their groups on a voluntary basis. Those who are paid to lead will need to pay £36.00
