24.Feb.10 Lights, Camera and lots of action for Exminster RiE group
TV and radio presenter Mark Tyler has launched his own Run in England group. Fourteen runners, with very different abilities, have signed up for the group in the village of Exminster just outside Exeter in Devon. They meet on Wednesday evenings at the local pub, the Royal Oak. We're reliably informed that there's more running than drinking !
Mark is a former news and sport reporter for BBC radio, but has spent the last 20 years working for ITV, firstly as a reporter for the 'Saint and Greavsie' football programme, and most recently as a news and sport presenter in the West and Westcountry regions based in Bristol and Plymouth.
Mark's delighted with how his group has taken off. "I've always loved running, but picked up a bad knee injury a couple of years ago. Run in England has given me a great chance to get going again, and, although we've only been going a few weeks, we're already into double figures. Groups like this work brilliantly in small local communities, and we now meet up socially as well".
